Falcons ‘Matty Ice’ not who you think he is?

The Atlanta Falcons are off to a 6-0 start in 2012.  After squeezing out another last second win against the Oakland Raiders the Falcons will head into their bye week with the best record in the NFL.  Contrary to my preseason prediction that Atlanta wouldn’t even make the playoffs, the Falcons appear to be a team on a mission; possibly a team of destiny.

Matt Ryan has had tremendous success this season and has a lot to do with the Falcons perfect record.   Ryan is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes and has thrown for 13 touchdowns and only three interceptions.  Despite Ryan’s accomplishments the Falcons have another Matt that is threatening to pilfer his franchise quarterback’s nickname of “Matty Ice.”

Atlanta Falcons’ Kicker Matt Bryant has been clutch for his team this season.  In his 11th year out of Baylor, Bryant is a perfect 10 for 10 in field goals including a 53 yard game winner as time expired against the Raiders.  Two weeks ago, Matt Bryant kicked the life out of division rival Carolina Panthers going three for three including another game winner, again as time expired.… Read more
