Stephon Marbury Paid His Chef $1 Million To Keep Their Affair A Secret From His Wife

Former NBA player Stephon Marbury is going to be brought up a lot during the new upcoming season of VH1's "Basketball Wives".

According to TMZ, Stephon Marbury paid his personal chef $1 million dollars to keep their secret affair from his wife Latasha.

Marbury, who will appear along with his wife on the upcoming season of "Basketball Wives", hooked up with the family's chef, Thurayyah Mitchell, five times during her employment, according to court documents obtained by the New York Post.

When Marbury let the chef go, back in 2006, she declared sexual harassment, but Marbury, who felt that he did nothing wrong, offered to give the woman $900,000 anyway to keep her mouth shut about their affair.

During the time, Marbury played with the N.Y. Knicks.

Marbury shelled out nearly $600,000 to Mitchell but stopped making payments back in 2010. Mitchell then took Marbury to an arbitrator for the balance. The arbitrator ruled that Marbury made Mitchell "believe that 'keeping him happy' was a requirement of keeping her job".

The arbitrator then awarded Mitchell $330,000, saying that Mitchell could have sued Marbury for more money or sold her story.
