Browns Hire Norv Turner as Offensive Coordinator

The Cleveland Browns have hired Norv Turner, as the teams new offensive coordinator.

Turner was fired as the Chargers head coach, after a 7-9 season, the team’s third straight season outside of the playoffs. Turner has a 114-122-1 overall record as a head coach.

Turner, has been way more successful as an offensive coordinator. Turner has spent time as the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. From 1991-1993, Turner led the high-powered Cowboys offense to two super bowl titles.

On five seperate occasions, the lead running back in Turner’s offense was the regular season rushing champ. Emmit Smith did it three times, Ladanian Tomlinson once and Frank Gore once.

This could be good news for Trent Richardson, as he tries to build on his productive rookie campaign.

The Browns also have hired receivers coach Scott Turner, offensive line coach Mike Sullivan, and strength and conditioning coach Brad Roll.
