Kobe Bryant: “We’re old as….”

Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant has never held his tongue for anybody. His recent comments prove that this will not change soon for any reason.

Bryant told ESPN that the Lakers are losing their bite because they are old.

These sentiments feel especially true when it comes to losses around the holidays.

After the Lakers dropped game  the day after Christmas to the Nuggets, Bryant brought up the team’s age.

“It seemed like we were a little stuck in the mud,” Bryant said then. “We played old, and they played with a lot of energy, a lot of youth, got up and down, and it just seemed like we were in a lower gear all night.”

After losing a New Year’s Day game to Philadelphia, Bryant let it rip when asked about the team’s stamina issues.

“Cause we’re old as s**t,” Bryant said. “What do you want? We just got to figure out how to play when we don’t have that energy. We got to change things up a little bit defensively. We got to figure out what we want to do offensively, figure out what we want to do on nights when we don’t have those legs or have that energy.”

“You just saw an old damn team,” Bryant continued. “I don’t know how else to put it to you. We’re just slow. You saw a team over there that was just younger and just had fresher legs and just played with more energy, and we were just stuck in the mud. I think individually we all have to figure out how to get ourselves ready each and every game to have a high level of energy. That’s all that is.”
Bryant’s frankness is often appreciated.

In this case he could be provided his enemies with the blueprint as to how to beat the 2012-13 Lakers.

Play fast, wear them out and the game is yours.

This is pretty ironic seeing that their coach Mike D’Antoni is the mastermind of the 7 Second offense.
