FBI Investigating Possible Extortion By Former Rutgers Assistant Eric Murdock

According to the N.Y. Times, Murdock's attorney sent the university with a request of $950,000 two weeks after Rice was suspended in December for his behavior in several practices that were videotaped by Murdock. The school declined to pay the amount, so Murdock leaked the video to the media.

This is making the FBI believe that this was all a BLACK MAIL ATTEMPT, which they are now investigating.

Murdocks contract with the university wasn't renewed and he's filing a wrongful termination lawsuit against the school. Rutgers have stuck with their claim that the decision not to bring back Murdock doesn't have anything to do with the scandal surrounding Rice, nor the fact that he leaked out the videos to the media. Instead, the school claims that the reason for not renewing his contract is due to him leaving basketball camp early and without permission, among other factors.

The investigation is in its early stages and the school is not commenting on the investigation.
