LeBron James won’t change his behavior after Kobe’s injury.

Kobe Bryant’s season-injury sent shockwaves throughout the NBA.

Fans, players, trainers, coaches and front office personnel all wondered if the extensive minutes that Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni piled onto Bryant’s body resulted in his downfall.

The nature of Bryant’s injury (torn Achilles) gives the coach with the out of saying it’s something that can happen to anybody at any time.

But there are those that say ‘ but still…’

So as the playoffs approach does that give other players pause to think about how much they are utilized?
LeBron James told ESPN on Sunday that he won’t let something like this impact how much he plays.

James even went as far as to state that he won’t even change his furious off-season routine.

“You can’t say, ‘OK, I’m not playing this game because I’m afraid of injury’ or ‘I’m not playing this summer,’” James said. “The opportunity is there. There’s going to be a time when you can’t play the game at all because Father Time has caught up with you. So you’ve got to try to do as much as you can while you can.”

“That’s not who we are,” James said. “We can’t play the game worried about injuries. … If you play your professional life worried about injuries, you’re never going to be able to maximize your potential. You can’t do that. You’ve got to just go out and play.”

Lebron stated that he felt nothing but sadness for Bryant because of one reason.

“I know how much work he puts into the game,” James said.

Injuries are a natural part of sports. They will claim our best.

They also have set the stage for some of the most inspiring moments in the catalog of sports culture’s highlight reels.

Inclusion on that list will be to tempting for Bryant to resist.
