Take away's from the 2012 All-Star Game

1. The AL is over-rated.  Yes, there are some great teams, but the AL is not head and shoulders above the NL, and the last 3 years have proven it.  Not only has the NL won 3 straight All-Star games, but they won last year's world series.  Now, I don't the NL is head and shoulders above either, but I think you see the effect of the big home run hitter sprinkled through the AL less in a game where there are no weak pitchers.  You see the effect of well rounded hitters and aggressive offense, which is what the NL showed.

2. Bryce Harper is not quite ready for primetime, but he knows it.  This kid is talented, and he works hit tale off, and he is smart enough to at least have humble words.  He worked a walk, had an error, and knew his role.  He'll be back, and I bet he'll be a star in a few of these, but not this year.

3. The Angels young guns are ready for primetime.  Trumbo and Trout are the real deal.

4. Robbie Cano is a class act.  He took the ribbing from the KC fans, stemming from his selections for the HR Derby, as exactly that.  After his 0-fer, he can't really say it didn't affect him, but he wasn't taking it personal.  But the fans stepped over the bounds when they got on his family.  KC is a classy place, but there are drunk idiots everywhere.

5. Prince Fielder has more fun doing his job than almost anyone I have ever seen, and I am jealous.  Seriously, he is a big kid, taking big rips, and laughing his way through his 'career'.  Good for him, we should all be lucky enough to enjoy our jobs this much.

See you after the break boys!!!
