Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos is raving mad at critics who say she is afraid to step up against UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey. In fact, she is willing to fight ‘Rowdy’ with one hand tied behind her back to prove she can ‘kick her ass.’
Oh no she didn’t!
Former Strikeforce women’s Featherweight champion Cristiane Santos is fed up with all the naysayers, including Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White, who feel she is ducking current Bantamweight champ, Ronda Rousey.
“Cyborg” wants to make it clear she is “not afraid” of “Rowdy” and her slick submission skills; she simply can’t make the drop down to 135 pounds. However, Santos is more than willing meet Rousey at a catch weight of 140 pounds. If that’s not enough, she will gladly step into the Octagon against the former Judoka with one hand tied behind her back.
Furthermore, “Cyborg” believes White is looking for every advantage that will favor his new golden girl, which is the reason he wants the fight to take place at bantamweight.
The Brazilian took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts to vent out her frustrations and lay down the gauntlet:
So what’s a measly five pounds among frenemies?“I am not afraid of Ronda! I will fight her anywhere and anytime for free. Everyone knows I barely make 145, but I am willing to sacrifice and meet her half way at 140. I can’t believe Dana says I want nothing to do with Ronda. What he wants me to do is fight Ronda with both my hands tied behind my back or comatosed-so that she can have a chance-which is what making me fight at 135 is — to finally shut everyone up — I will fight Ronda with one hand tied behind my Back at 140lb and still kick her ass and prove that I’m the real champ not her- and let the winner take ALL come on rhonda step up bitch!”
Well, according to “Cyborg’s” doctors, should she drop the extra baggage, it will put her health at risk and will likely affect her chances of ever having children.
Santos’ manager, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz, recently revealed he has been trying his hardest to make the fight happen between the two female mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, but the
task has proven tougher than he imagined.
Nevertheless, Santos has just about had enough of everyone doubting her willingness to step up against the face of women’s MMA and will likely be a very interested observer at UFC 157 when Rousey takes on Liz Carmouche on Feb. 23, 2013, in Anaheim, California. And if she wins, rest assured “Cyborg” will ratchet up the name calling since everything else she has done to date has fallen on deaf ears.
If you insult, denigrate and defame them, they will come.
