The Best Part About This Year's World Series: It's Tim McCarver's Last

When the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals meet at Fenway Park for game one of the World Series on Wednesday and on FOX, we'll all be witnessing the end of an era as Tim McCarver calls his final World Series. That means we'll get fewer moments like this.
And it can't come a moment too soon.

McCarver's 24 Fall Classics have been 24 too many in regards to his being in the broadcast booth. The 72-year-old broadcaster, who call his first World Series in 1985, has issued in enough bad puns, made enough bad connections between terms and flat out misrepresented facts for far too long.
"I'm obviously elated that I've lasted this long. I'm tickled to death to be doing this last Series," McCarver said on mlb.com.
So is everyone else, Tim. Thank you for retiring. The quality of national baseball broadcasts will immediately improve as soon as you step down.
