Back in late September during an interview with NFL Network, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White said that he Julio Jones were the best receiving duo in the league, because “Victor Cruz was to small,”and most importantly because the numbers say so, and “numbers never lie.”
Well a few months have passed, people forgot, and now December 17, 2012, the Giants and Falcons receivers will be on the same field.
Hakeem Nicks was asked about those comments from a few months ago he didn’t mince words when describing his opinion on the matter according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
“Numbers don’t lie, or Super Bowl rings don’t lie, neither,” Nicks said, via Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. “So when you get (into) that battle about who’s the best, I think you just let your play on the field talk for you. You ain’t got to be talking with your mouth.”Roddy White and Julio Jones may put up great regular season numbers, but until they ball out like Cruz and Nicks do during the post season, it’s not even up for consideration.
“We’re going to always feel like we’re the best. We strive to be the best,” Nicks said this evening.
“We (aren’t) going to get into that battle, that argument of who’s the best, who’s better, because that’s not what it’s about. It’s going out there and playing team ball, and who’s going to win.”
Cruz and Nicks put in work regardless of the time of the year.
