Youkilis in talks to Possibly join Yankees

Could a former Boston Red Sox great possibly join the evil empire?

Apparently, it’s a possibility.

Free agent Kevin Youkilis is reportedly being pursued by Yankees GM Brian Cashman to play third base, after news broke that Alex Rodriguez could miss time to start the regular season because of injury.
Per NY Daily News:
Brian Cashman has been in contact with the agent for the former Red Sox third baseman, putting the possibility in play that another former Yankees nemesis could wind up wearing pinstripes in the Bronx.
Cashman said he’s “just looking to someone who can get there for three months at the very least,” though ideally he would prefer a player he could play the entire year.
Given the lack of third base depth on the free agent market — in addition to Youkilis, the other interesting names include Jeff Keppinger, Marco Scutaro and Ian Stewart — Cashman could be forced to bring in a pair of players and use a platoon in A-Rod’s absence. Eric Chavez has decided to play again next season, but he isn’t likely to be an everyday player given his injury history.
