Big Baby Says Jacque Vaughn Is Gandhi Compared To Doc Rivers

Glen “Big Baby” Davis has never been one to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, so you tend to take what he says with a grain of salt.

Davis is enjoying success starting at forward for the retooled Orlando Magic.

That succes,s plus teammates that will hold him less accountable, has led Davis to start running off at his mouth about his former team.

Many players when asked to compare Celtics coach Doc Rivers to Magic new coach Jacque Vaughn, would simply say an old school approach versus a new school approach.

Not Glen Davis, and when the Boston herald asked him to compare coaches, Davis went off the grid with his assessment.

Toronto Raptors Defeat Orlando Magic 97-86

The Orlando Magic finally tasted victory again on Friday night, beating the Detroit Pistons 110-106. Unfortunately, their winning streak was short-lived, as they lost for the sixth time in seven games to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday at the Air Canada Centre.
“There's no other way we're going to win if we're not prepared,” Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. “If we're not ready to play at the start of the game and committed at the start of the game, not waiting till halftime and what happens after, then we won't have a chance.”
Toronto (3-7) was paced by DeMar DeRozan, who had 20 points and nine rebounds. Andrea Bargnani added 17 points, while Amir Johnson recorded 15, Linas Kleiza finished with 12, and Dominic McGuire tallied 11. Jose Calderon registered nine points and 18 assists.

Orlando Magic Can’t Knock Off Undefeated New York Knicks

Despite the fact that they had lost four games in a row while their opponents had won four consecutive games, the Orlando Magic fought hard against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, they were unable to topple the undefeated Knicks, falling 99-89 on Tuesday night at the Amway Center.
“You have to want to win more, simple as that,” Magic guard Arron Afflalo said. “There's not one man on this team that's going to do it; (we) pretty much have to want it more.”
Carmelo Anthony had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks (5-0), while Raymond Felton added 21 points and five assists. J.R. Smith came off the bench to score 21 and Tyson Chandler finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

Orlando (2-5) received double figures in points from all five of its starters. J.J. Redick had 18 points and seven assists, while Afflalo recorded 13 points, Nikola Vucevic had 12 points and 10 rebounds, E’Twaun Moore notched 12 points and eight assists, and Glen Davis registered 10 points. Rookies Andrew Nicholson and Moe Harkless provided solid contributions off the bench, finishing with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

Glen Davis, J.J. Redick Lead Orlando Magic to Opening Night Victory

The Orlando Magic have had plenty of naysayers over the past few months. With only four returning players from last year’s squad and a 37-year-old rookie head coach, Orlando was picked by Sports Illustrated to finish last in the Eastern Conference.
For at least one night, the Magic silenced those cynics, beating the Denver Nuggets 102-89 in their opening game of the season on Friday night at the Amway Center.
“It's exciting man, there's been a lot of change around here,” Magic guard Arron Afflalo said. “The expectations haven't been too high, so for us to get off to this type of start is a good feeling and we're gonna continue to take it one game at a time.”
Glen Davis led Orlando (1-0) with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while J.J. Redick came off the bench to total 21 points, six assists, and four rebounds. E’Twaun Moore was the only other Magic player in double figures, finishing with 13 points off the bench, but nine different players scored for the hosts en route to the double-digit win.
